We continue to hear that we are now in the 21st century and as such we should all be teaching to meet the needs of 21st century learners. But what does this mean for the average teacher in the classroom? Well to start, it means we as educators need to take the time to reflect on what has changed about education and what this means for teachers and students.
No longer is knowledge or content solely the key, but rather we need to focus on equipping our students with the skills that in the past we haven’t really understood. The question then becomes what are these skills and how do we get the staff on board to recognise the need for this change?
